This unique hand-carved African mask is made by artisans from the famous wood carving Kamba tribe from Kenya. Carved from neem wood, painted and varnished, it measures approximately 8″(H). This mask is referred to as the kissing mask because of the two carved tribesmen facing each other at the top. Traditionally, masks were used by African people to identify themselves within a tribe and scare their opponents. It is a wonderful wall decor item. This wood carving among others is produced by artisans working in a cooperative in rural Kenya and earn their livelihood from the sale of their products.
